November 10, 2014

We began our meeting with an amazing display of Gail Mitchell's many ideas. Gail talked about many of her designs and how they came about. Many of these are also featured on her blog Quilt, Knit, Run, Sew ... and then do it all again!.

Gail made fascinators for herself and children for the Royal Visit on PEI! This is Gail sporting her fascinator.

Below are many of the ideas that Gail shared with us.  We all came away truly inspired to try some new things and cannot wait for our workshop with her this weekend!

Gail explained how she quilted and finished these mug rugs. Perfect idea for KRQ!
After our business meeting we shared all of our new projects at Show and Tell

Kathy A finished this quilt after seven years of embroidery and hand quilting. Beautiful!

Marilyn has been working hard on sewing baby quilts

Ella finished a project for a grandson and then created some wall hangings with fabric from her sister in the north.

Combining a rag quilt and panel worked so well!

A friend of several of our members gave them a number of appliques blocks. They took them to our workshop with Cecile Grant on making scrappy quilts and Cecile kindly took them home and came up with these quilts.  They will now be donated by Cecile to Victoria quilts.

Debbie was inspired to do this quilt by one completed by another of our members (Rose-Marie)

Janet completed several projects from classes, a binder cover and a Bow Tucks Bag.
