2016 February

Our program for the evening was Yoga with Kelly Green (Watson). Kelly shared her personal journey that led her to Yoga. Kelly then led us through a chair yoga routine that was very relaxing. I think it was the first time you could hear a pin drop in the room for the complete program!

Brynn, our first junior member, was presented with her Junior membership card.

Show & Tell began with Susan A telling us about the quilting cruise she took in January. They quilted 3 1/2 days of the 7-day trip. There was a class and trunk show with Karla Alexander where she pieced this quilt top.

Susan's other projects include "Momma Love" wall hanging (above) and below her spicy spiral table runner and "trailer quilt" She and her husband bought an RV in 2014 and she started the quilt then, after a funny reminder from her husband she used her new Juki and finished it this month.

Rose Marie, Gail and Christa told us about their English paper piecing saga. Some time ago Gail cut out 400-500 small hexagons and began a traditional pattern: Grandmother's Flower Garden.

After Gail completed 3/4 of the quilt she decided to finish it by creating
a new design to finish it without more paper piecing.

There were still many pieces of paper left so Rose Marie decided she would use them. She began with a diamond and then found a picture and decided to do a quilt for her bed...

...four years later.... she finished it as a beautiful table cloth.

There were still many pieces of paper left....so Christa decided to use the left over paper pieces. Christa sewed on the way to Germany and back. Her quilt is below...and anyone wishing to use the rest of the paper piecing pieces should contact Rose Marie, Gail or Christa!
They will not be tackling another project.

This month Gail finished her scrappy quilt (below)
